- Open Terminal in the download folder and run sudo apt install ./EkamQR-Server-Setup-<version>-amd64.deb.
- Complete the guided first-time setup when prompted, including the required server and administrator details.
- After installation, open the EkamQR URL shown by the setup and sign in with the configured administrator account.
Use a supported 64-bit Ubuntu/Debian system and install the package with apt so required package dependencies can be handled correctly.

- Download the EkamQR Mobile APK on the Android phone.
- Open the downloaded APK. If Android blocks the installation, allow Install unknown apps for the browser or file manager you used.
- Install and open EkamQR Mobile, then enter your EkamQR server URL when asked on first launch.
- Sign in with the employee account and allow the permissions required for the configured attendance workflows.
Only install the EkamQR APK downloaded from ekamqr.com. You can disable the temporary “Install unknown apps” permission again after installation.
FAQ
Questions decision-makers usually ask.
Does EkamQR use biometric verification?
Yes. The current mobile attendance workflow can use fingerprint verification, while supported biometric devices can continue to capture attendance through their configured methods.
Does EkamQR require zero hardware?
No. A supported camera-capable device and connectivity are still required. The aim is to reduce specialized attendance-machine dependency, not to claim that physical hardware disappears completely.
Can a copied QR alone create attendance?
The intended QR + fingerprint workflow does not rely on the QR alone. It can validate session state and expiry, location context and configured biometric verification before recording attendance.
Can we use EkamQR at multiple locations?
Yes. The product is designed around managed organization locations and employee location assignments, making it suitable for multi-location attendance workflows.
How much money will we save?
That depends on your present device count, installation model, maintenance cost, expansion plans, software pricing and existing devices. EkamQR should be evaluated with a customer-specific total-cost-of-ownership calculation instead of a generic savings percentage.
